With the storm approaching, the probationary members of the Trumbull Vounteer Fire Company took to the parking lot of Station 1 and stretched lines for a full two hours. The emphasis was put on getting the first line into service. Members responded in as a crew of four, took the hydrant and laid in, stretched an 1 3/4" line to the front door, called for water, and operated the line. In total, two evolutions were run and over 1000' of 1 3/4" hose was stretched, charged, advanced, and packed up.
Everyone performed extremely well, and with it only being March, it's going to be a long summer of engine operations!
