Welcome to the new website of the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Co #1 Inc. This is the section of the website that will be used for training updates, information, and re-caps of drills we hold.
This spring and summer of 2010, the emphasis on training will be back to the basics. We're going to do those evolutions that they teach you the first day of the fire training, or the skills that we test on for 2nd class. The bread and butter maneuvers of the fire service. We're going to be pulling lines, laying in, flowing water, doing searches, cutting roofs, and working with each other. We have some really good training events planned in the next few months. Be prepared to get wet, have fun, learn something, and get a workout!
Additionally, we have been purchasing lots and lots of new gear in the last few months and upcoming months. We have begun purchasing gear with the integrated harnesses, and jackets with the DRD (Drag Rescue Device) integrated into it. In the next couple months, we will get training on this gear, including RIT applications, Ladder locks, and bailout training.
Come the end of the summer, our skills will be fresh, our equipment will be top notch, and hopefully we can step it up a bit to include some more advanced training. Any suggestions, classes, or drill nights you would like to see, please don't hesitate to contact the training committee. Let's make this a great 2010!
