For training Thursday evening, August 18th, Trumbull Center conducted live fire training at Fairfield Fire School. The fire was set on the first floor of a two story burn building.
While the fire was going on, crews were tasked with completing three different stations in high heat and low visibility. The first was a RIT station. (Rapid Intervention Team; a team dedicated to rescuing a downed firefighter). This team was deployed to find a "downed firefighter" (a training dummy), package him, and remove him. The second team was tasked with searching for a "missing child" (small dummy) on the second floor. The third team used the bucket from 104 to access the roof and practice cutting a peaked roof for vertical ventilation. All crews did a great job and worked hard!
