While firefighters love to get out and do hands-on training, it is tough in the winter. Instead, we use the winter for some of the mandated requirements. These included Blood Born Pathogens training, CPR/AED training, and Hazardous Materials training. We have also spent many of our Thursday nights and Sunday mornings shoveling hydrants so they are accessible. There is some ice rescue training planned for February, and soon enough we will be rolling into March and hoping to move outside to get back in the swing of things!
