Fatal crash jams Route 25 in Trumbull

Updated: 05/16/2009 12:47:50 AM EDT TRUMBULL -- A driver was killed on the Route 25 connector early Friday evening after a car skidded off the highway at the Daniels Farm Road overpass, struck a tree and caught fire.
State Police closed the highway's northbound travel lanes following the 5:19 p.m. crash, but later opened the left lane as the investigation into the crash continued. State police said the driver was Panayioths Tsiknis, 18, of Little Street in Bridgeport. He was driving a 1998 Lexus ES300 in the left lane when the car crossed over three lanes before striking a tree, trapping him inside. The case is under investigation. Witnesses are asked to call State Police Troop G at 696-2500.
