At approximately 1:05 AM on Thanksgiving morning, Trumbull Center with Nichols were dispatched to the intersection of Hurd Rd and McGuire Rd for the rollover with entrapment. E-102 arrive on scene and reported a car on its roof with one person trapped. They were assisted with the crew from Rescue 100, Nichols Rescue 300 and Quint 303. One door was removed to provide access to remove the patient who was transported to the hospital. Nichols Car 2 had command, and Trumbull Car 1 was also on scene. A big thank you to everyone that responded.

t approx 3 AM on the early morning of Saturday Nov. 19th , Trumbull Center responded to a reported for an MVA extrication at the intersection of Whitney Ave and Porters Hill Rd.

First Arriving unit was Trumbull Car 2 who advised that units of VW which struck a tree and the occupant was trapped in the vehicle. The order was to extricate through the door so allow access so EMS could stabilize the single victim and transport.

E102 arrived, secured the vehicle and executed the extrication. This was followed by Car’s 1, 2 and Rescue 100. Long Hill crews were also on scene. The car had a single occupant and narrowly missed a phone pole, street signs as well as a fire hydrant before striking a tree head on.

At approximately 01:00 on Saturday, October 8th, Trumbull Center and Nichols were dispatched to Route 15 NB, North of Exit 52 for an extrication. State PD was on scene reporting one person trapped. Trumbull Center E-103, S-109, and TC-1, along with Nichols Rescue 300 responded. On arrival, there was victim trapped. Crews went to work removing the roof of the vehicle and opening up a door to assist EMS with patient removal. Crews cleared within an hour.

During the surprise October Nor Easter, the volunteers of Trumbull Center were kept busy with nearly 25 storm related calls. These ranged from trees down and wires burning, to fire alarms and a possible structure fire. At the peak, nearly 20 firefighters were on hand to respond. A big thanks to all the members that took time away from their families to help keep the town safe.

On October 6, 2011, Trumbull Center, Long Hill, and Nichols fire departments were dispatched to the rear of 30 Lindeman Drive for smoke coming from the building. First units on scene (N-301) reported a working fire in a 6 bay commercial garage measuring approximately 40 by 120 feet.
