Chatham Drive Fire 6.27.18
June 26, 2018 – Press Release
On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, Trumbull Center along with Long Hill and Nichols, was dispatched to 14 Chatham Drive for a possible structure fire. While enroute, responding units were advised that an occupant may be trapped inside. First arriving units were met with heavy fire venting through first floor windows spreading to the second floor. Crews immediately placed a 2.5” hose line into service and established a water supply, while LH-1 and TC-2 established command. During fire suppression, it was determined the structure was unoccupied. Command requested additional resources from Stepneys Volunteer Fire Company and Shelton Fire Companies. Within approximately twenty minutes, the fire was knocked down and crews began an extensive overhaul process, assuring all hotspots were extinguished. All units were back in quarters by 1900 hours and the scene was turned over to the Trumbull Fire Marshal’s Office. Thank you to Nichols, Long Hill, Stepney, and Shelton fire companies as well as Trumbull PD, EMS, and utility companies for their assistance.
